Hi Loves!
One question I always get asked is "how did you lose weight?" and it's not an easy question to answer. The thing is, there are lots of things I did and continue to do to lose weight.
I always tell everyone, eat healthy & exercise. But most people want to know exactly what to do and how to do it. So here I'm going to tell you some of the things I found helped me to lose 50 pounds that I have lost so far since I started my journey back in June 2013.
I am still losing, my goal is to reach 200 pounds. I currently weight 250 and at my heaviest I was at 298 sad to say but true. I'm 5'7 tall and I've always been curvy and weight a lot more than what I look like. And I'm ok with that, I love my curves and everything about my body but there's a point where you go from being "curvy" to being "fat & unhealthy"
And that's not who I wanna be ya know? I wanna set an example for my son & just be healthy for myself and my own good.
- SET YOUR GOALS. Weight yourself now, look in the mirror and image where you want to be and what you want to look like. Then decide on a goal weight. Make sure it's a reasonable number, don't expect to lose 100 in one month because it will most likely not happen and you will get discouraged and stop. Don't forget to write it all down so that you can keep track and take some before pictures so you can then compare and see the difference.
- FIND MOTIVATION. This is one of the hardest things, but it's also very simple. Ask yourself why you want to lose weight? imagine yourself in that bikini you've always wanted to wear. Follow inspirational people/pages, I follow lots of Instagram fitness/health pages and I'm always looking at transformation pictures, healthy food recipes, exercise routines etc. This is what keeps ME motivated, but do whatever motivates you.
- COUNT CALORIES. Get an app like Lose it! or My Fitness Pal and it will tell you how many calories you need to eat to achieve your goals at a certain amount of time. It's that easy!
- READ NUTRION FACTS. Sometimes some diet foods just because they're called "diet" doesn't necessarily mean healthy so make sure you READ!
- DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Stop drinking sodas and juices and stick to water only. This alone can help you lose weight.
- EAT HEALTHY. No more cheeseburgers and pizza. Eat a lot more vegetables and fruits instead of fried fast food and you will see a drastic change, I promise. this was my weakness but I have managed to learn how to simply say NO. The more you do it the easier it becomes. Try to eat healthy at least 6 days out of the week.
- TREAT YOURSELF. Every now and then have yourself a dessert. This will keep you from going overboard and giving up.
- PORTION SIZE. Eat smaller meals. If you eat healthy and haven't seen results it's probably because you sizing is not right. Measure everything if you need to.
- EXERCISE. Work out! No matter if it's just walking up and down the stairs, do something. Start with 15 min. workouts then go from there. Try to work out at least 5 days a week.
- STRENGTH WORKOUTS. Try to build some muscle, if you're losing weight you don't want to be left with lose skin so make sure you do some lifting. Don't worry, you won't be super muscular and manly looking. Unless you do intense weight training and that's the look you want, then go for it!
- GOOD SLEEP. This is very important, make sure you get a good 8hr sleep. This will help give you the energy you'll need the next day to do your workouts.
These are all the tips I have for you so far. Keep in mind that this is a lifestyle change and it will be hard at the beginning but once you see results and your body gets used to the changes, it'll be a lot easier. Love yourself before anything and let's get fit!!! :D

THIS IS MY PROGRESS SO FAR:

As you all know, I dyed my hair recently. I got a medium brown with golden highlights and it is a lot lighter now. So I have been using this purple shampoo I got from Sally's to tone my hair so it doesn't look orange or brassy. If you ever have a problem with your hair looking a bit orange, use this stuff it will get rid of all the orange tones in your hair :)
